WHAT TO BUY FOR *YOURSELF* THIS BLACK FRIDAY

Happy Wednesday, ladies! I’m coming at you with a new post again. Whew. I’m trying to get on this seasonal bandwagon, but this is quite literally the busiest time of year for life stuff. Adding posts on top of that will really keep a girl busy. But I’m just so inspired by everything this year. I’m loving winter fashion for the first time since 2016! I just bought way too many pairs of boots (which I think needs to be a post of it’s own because #affordable!). So this should be the first of many (maybe sporadic), but definitely useful posts to help you navigate the season.

NAVIGATING BLACK FRIDAY & BEYOND

Before we jump into this post, I briefly want to give you a few shopping tips.

  1. Have a budget in mind. Even if you don’t have time to make a formal one, have a general idea of your limit before you start going. The easiest way is to limit for the year then divide by the number of people on your list. After that you can tweak it mentally as your shopping – a little less for the person who has it all, a little more for your kiddo. Just keep a few numbers in mind.
  2. Use coupons and rebate sites. I’m always browsing the sales guides released this time of year. It’s a great way to find inspiration and great prices. Kohl’s is one of my favorite reliable shopping destinations around this time of year, and they just released their Black Friday ad. It’s sooo many pages, so I dug through it to accent today’s post. But there’s also a ton of great fashion, toy, jewelry, beauty, and tech finds!
  3. Make a 2-minute list. Get a notepad, set a timer. Now list all the names and gifts you can think of in two minutes. Don’t dwell on anyone. You don’t even have to assign gifts to a person – you can just make a list of gift ideas that you can connect to a person (or yourself, no judgement) later. Just spend 2 minutes jotting down ideas before you shop to help you from being overwhelmed.

BLACK FRIDAY FINDS FOR YO’SELF

NEW TOWELS & LINENS

New sheets are on my Black Friday wishlist. Towels, too. This is the time of year when the extra soft and extra plushy stuff likes to go on sale. You don’t need to completely replace your towel collection. But like anything heavily used, sheets and towels deteriorate over time. Pick up a new set of sheets every other year, and a new towel for each person in your household each year (or just yourself and make your family jealous, you do you boo). You’ll be grateful when you’re wrapping yourself up in a comfy cozy too-expensive-but-got-it-on-sale towel after a toasty shower on the coldest of winter days. There’s a 1200 count set from Kohl’s in the widget above and omg.. If I don’t buy out the stock, I’ll be amazed.

“BORING” HOME TECHNOLOGY

I asked for a vacuum this Christmas. And I got scrunched noses. Nobody wants to buy a vacuum as a Christmas gift. They’re just not that exciting. And I think people feel guilty gifting items which imply that you need to work. But, man, that boring home technology like vacuums, humidifiers, and heat blankets are sooo nice to have. They just make life so much more comfortable. If you’ve got people who scrunch their nose at you when you say that kind of thing is on your list – get it for yourself this Black Friday. I couldn’t link them for you in the widget above, but I saw in the ad that Kohl’s has Roomba’s and Dyson’s soooo….

CHRISTMAS DECOR

All the bloggers in the world have already decorated their homes for Christmas (except me, maybe), but you’re a normal gal with a busy life. If you wait till after Christmas or like to put it together over time, Black Friday can be a great opportunity to capitalize on seasonal decor trends and pick up wrapping paper at a discount before the holiday. I love shopping for this stuff after Christmas, but so does everyone else and it’s all picked over. So grab your favorite things while they’re on sale before Santa shows up.

What are you shopping for this Black Friday?
