ALL THE FASHION FINDS I’VE PICKED UP FROM AMAZON RECENTLY

Happy Wednesday, ladies! Let’s drop the amazon fashion finds topic for a hot second – How are you doing? Like, really doing? As I’m writing this, I’ve just finished my first official day back to work, e-learning style. Although, we didn’t start assignments today, we had staff meetings and did a few things to get us going.

BUT I’ve just finished the work day and did an hour of a Skillshare class, and I wanted to do a little blogging, too. I actually printed out the Ideal Week printable from Day Designer and filled it out to hopefully plan out these work from home days. I’m doing my utmost to make the utmost of it! I’m writing this on Monday the 30th so obviously I haven’t tested it fully yet, but today is going pretty well! Except for the weirdness of being home, I haven’t even thought about the scariness just floating out in the world right now. And that’s all I’m going to say before resuming distractions – let’s talk Amazon fashion.

(It got super busy – I’m finishing this post two weeks later. E-learning is hard.)

I never used to be a big Amazon fashion person – I picked up a few things here and there, but I didn’t peruse and go there to find things first. Around June of last year, I started going there more. I’m more aware of what’s missing in my wardrobe and I do like that Prime shipping. We live in the middle of nowhere so going out is quite the adventure and most stores take a week or so to make it here, so I go to Amazon when I know what I’m really looking for.

I’ve been using Amazon for a lot more in general lately, but I’ll have a few more posts coming up with other categories like home. Also, quite a few things are no longer available (that’s how fashion works, right?), so I’m not sharing those things – but I am sharing some things I don’t like so you can have that warning!

AMAZON FASHION FINDS I LOVE

LEATHER BACKPACK

This is the number one find on this list. Everywhere I got I get compliments on this backpack and I love it! I got it to fit my computer so I could take it to work and it’s perfect. It’s a little bit snug, but I can fit my Mac, the accoutrements, my wallet, and quite a bit more. The leather is super buttery and soft and I haven’t noticed any scratching since I picked it up. There’s also a nifty little strap to attach to your luggage for traveling. I haven’t used it yet, but it’s nifty.

TOP EXTENDER

I picked these up to add some length to some sweaters to wear to work and they get compliments all the time. I have white, navy, and black and love them all!

BRALETTE SET

I was unsure about these, but I actually wear them all the time. They aren’t, like, the cutest after a wash or two. There’s some pilling and the little pads move around. BUT they are stinking comfortable and soft, so for bra purposes, I’m loving them.

SNAKESKIN BOOTIES

I waited so long for these bad boys, and I love them so much. The quality is a lot better than I was expecting and they add an instant edge to a look. They have a good amount of height, but are pretty comfortable. If you are a never-wears-heels person, though, they might be just a pinch too tall for your feetsies.

ANKLE SOCKS

I saw Torey’s Treasures posting about these, and it just happened to be right when I had picked up a couple new pairs of flat booties that I desperately needed new socks for. ‘Twas a great rec. I really do like them. After a few washes, a few of the pairs had a rough time staying up, but it’s not the end of the world.  I’m a sock stretcher, too, so I’m not surprised.

LEOPARD BEANIE

I don’t know what came over me, but I really wanted a white leopard print beanie with a pom this past winter. There was another one I loved but it was expensive and kept selling out. I ordered this one just to be able to try the style and it’s so damn soft I don’t even care about that other one anymore.

LAYERING CAMIS

I needed some base layers for under sweaters this winter and found this pack. They are ultra soft and wash well. Perfectly practical and affordable. I wear one at least once a week – if not more.

LEOPARD SKIRT

I love this skirt so much! It’s so fun and comfy to wear. It’s ultra trendy and can be dressed down with a graphic tee, denim jacket, and sneakers or dressed up with a lacy cami and heels. I’m all for a multitasker! I got a medium, but I could have gone with a small.

ADIDAS SNEAKERS

Little did I know when I picked these up, this style would become an influencer craze. There were a couple sizes left in this shoe at the time of starting this post, but I’m not sure how long that will last. This particular pair I found on sale, but this style is still easy to find in other colors. I just needed a pair of plain black sneakers, but I didn’t want any that looked like those 90’s all black, on-your-feet-all-day kind of sneakers, know what I mean? I wanted something sporty, but not overly so. These were the perfect solution. I only wish I had gone down half a size as they are a bit big. I actually trip a lot in the morning when I wear them, but as a teacher on my feet all day (when not quarantined), I kind of don’t mind because my feet swell and they start to fit better by the end of the week. HA!

FINDS I’M STILL TESTING/TRYING

CHELSEA RAIN BOOTS

I got these boots to have an option for the rain storms coming this summer, so I haven’t had much chance to wear them. The quality feels great and they are super cute though!

MIDI SKIRT

I need to try washing this skirt with a little extra fabric softener before I make up my mind. It’s a little stiff and picks up wrinkles really easily, which is common with linen anyway, but the fabric was also thicker than I expected so we’ll see how a wash does!

CHIFFON TANK

This tank is super cute. It was one I picked up to wear with sweaters, but it isn’t quite long enough. It is pure white though (almost blue white), and I didn’t have any basics in that color so I decided to hold onto it. The material is quite thick, but it’s not fully opaque so I would suggest wearing a nude or a base layer under it.

WHITE BOOTS

love these boots so much. They are so beautiful – and my mom is obsessed, too. They have the coolest little cut out on the heel as well. I didn’t have a chance to wear them this winter, so I’m not sure how they stand up. But I have some cute summer-dress looks in mind to give them a shot with!

BIKER SHORTS

I wanted to try the biker short trend, not sure it’s for me. But I do love wearing these under skirts and dresses. I feel like they make me feel a little more covered up and sucked in, and I don’t have to worry about the wind causing any shows.

HEADBAND SET

I love this headband set! I was super affordable and the colors are so pretty. The material is quite thin, but it’s set on a headband base so the thin material isn’t a big deal. There’s so many colors that I haven’t had a chance to truly test any one for long term quality of wear.

BLUE LIGHT GLASSES

I haven’t tested these yet, but I need to! My headaches are getting so severe. I just need to switch to wearing my contacts more so I actually can give these a shot. They are super affordable and really cute on, though! Will keep you updated!

“WOOL” SOCKS

I’m not into wool. I can’t – I just get so itchy. So I was hoping these would work since they have such a low wool content. But they’re still kind of itchy. I’ve been wearing plain socks under them so I can have that cute wool look with duck boots. My mom has a few tips for softening them up so I’ll test those out before I commit.

LAYERING TANK

I really like this tank, but it’s nothing exceptionally special. If you’re looking for something like this, you’ll like it. But it’s not a must-have.

DENIM PENCIL SKIRT

The one thing I didn’t like about this skirt was that all the buttons were real. I ended up going in and sewing down all by the first three or four buttons so that I wouldn’t be worried about one popping open while I wear it – and now I’m obsessed! It’s so cute!

LACE TOP EXTENDER

I thought this top extender would be a wear-all-the-time one, but I actually don’t grab for it too often. I do think it’s super cute, but I don’t like how much the sides separate. Big butt problem, I guess.

LEATHER LEGGINGS

I wore these a bunch when I first got them and I still completely love them. My only issue is that they’re a little bit shinier than I would like. But still super cute and comfortable – and very affordable!

WIDE BRIM HAT

I brought this hat with me to California this winter and totally loved it. It’s super cute and the is a string inside to help adjust it to your head. It pops out of shape pretty easily, but also rebounds well. I’m hoping to give it more love this spring and see how it really wears long term!

AMAZON FASHION FINDS I WOULD PASS ON

There are two Amazon fashion fails I wanted to share with you all. Well, actually, only one fail, and then one disappointment.

These black pants I was so excited for. I had been needing a new pair of black pants that fit like leggings, but looked nicer and I loved them when I first got them. Unfortunately, the quality just didn’t live up to the mark. I still would suggest opting for American Eagle (and I’m starting to get into Target pants). After a wash and a few wears, the elastic threads start tearing and create like a fuzzy look all over the pants. I didn’t see anything like that in the reviews so I was super annoyed. I’ve still been wearing them, just using a clothing shaver on them each time. But it won’t be long before they completely fall apart.

The next “fail” was this plain black tee. I wanted something that would look cute layered under things and I really liked this neckline. Unfortunately, it’s more of something to use as a base layer and isn’t very flattering on. Also, it attracts so. much. dog. hair. I just can’t. All black attracts hair, I know, but if you have a dog then you know, some fabrics just grab it in the worst way! If you don’t have pets or don’t care about hair, this would make a great base layer under winter sweaters.
