FRIDAY FAVORITES: FALL BREAK EDITION

Happy Fri-YAY! My first instinct was to say, “What a week!” but TBH, I was so damn lazy. Fall break kicked off last Friday and you know, best intentions and roads to hell and all. But I’m not being hard on myself for it at all. However, I have been doing some shopping, so even though life has been more monotonous than fun lately, I’ve got some goodies to share (including an affordable pair of leather leggings!). Also – when Chris told me Sam Hunt came out with a new single I lost my shit. Do we remember the days when his first album was all I would listen to? Because I do. Thank you Sam Hunt for blessing us again! Sooo good!

This week I loved…

  • I have a pair of faux leather leggings that fit me about three sizes ago so obviously I haven’t been able to wear them. They have zero stretch. But I’ve not wanted to get a new pair because I have one. I’m still feeling my thoughts and feelings from here and I decided, fuck it, I’m sick of making excuses for why I can’t dress or be the way I want to be now. I’m not ready to commit to the Spanx pair since my body is still changing so much, so I ordered this pair from Amazon  in a Small and I’m in love. I haven’t worn them out yet, but they stretched so nicely and felt so good on. They’re a tiny bit shiny for me, but I’m really happy with the compromise.
  • In the same vein as the leggings, I wanted a new pair of black pants that fit but were also inexpensive af. Amazon once againhad a great option, I ordered a Medium. Again, have not worn these out yet, but I loved them after trying them on! I’m tempted to get them in a few more colors!
  • This one was kind of funny. I was sitting on my couch browsing and I decided I really wanted a pair of cognac, medium brown over the knee boots. It’s become such a big color in my wardrobe, but I was lacking in the boots department (well, shoes in general). But I couldn’t find an affordable pair to save my life. I knew Target was running a deal on boots and wanted to check it out, but didn’t think about it in the moment. Anyway, the next day, I found the next shoes I’m going to talk about and looked down the row of shoes and saw these and was sold. I grabbed both pairs and I’m so happy.
  • I remember sitting down and looking at duck boots with shopping intent for the first time around 2013 – and I never got them. Every. Single. Winter. I look at them and think about how cute they would be. And every. single. winter. I don’t order them. Until I walked into Target on Monday and they had a BOGO 50% on boots and I saw this pair – then the previously mentioned pair. And now I have super cute duck boots. The sales not going on now, but both boots are still very affordable.
  • Okay, last pair of shoes for now. I’ve been wanting a pair of slides for about a year, but I’m just not sure if they’re for me. They look so cute on everyone else, but when I try them on, I just don’t know. So I wanted to try something super affordable, but not overly cheap, since I’ll probably wear them to work. I found this pair on sale from Unionbay and I’m loving them so far!
  • I saw someone on Instagram with a leopard beanie, so I wanted a leopard beanie. Actually, it was this soft gray color with a faux fur poof and so cute, I followed through to check it out and holy dollar signs. For such a trendy piece, I wasn’t down. I was kind of resistant to this C.C one because I liked the faux fur poof, but I finally decided to go for it and I’m so glad. It’s way softer than I expected and I can’t wait to wear it every day from now until forever.

Check this out…

  • Speaking of leather leggings, if you’re looking for some styling inspo (side note: why the heck is it so hard to find styling inspo these days?), check out this post from Lauren McBride. She’s styling the Spanx pair which is fully on my wish list, but the Amazon pair I picked up with style just fine! Outfit 3 is my faveeeee!
  • More styling inspo! Check out this post from Putting Me Together for ankle boots in workwear inspiration.
  • I’m just obsessed with the photography for this simple and super modern home on Desire to Inspire. It’s such a fabulous design and it was captured so beautifully!
  • Back to the whole so little inspo thing lately, I’m finding less home inspiration as well. I don’t want to shop, I want to see designed inspiration post from Deuce Cities Henhouse spaces. (I mean I do want to shop, but I don’t mind the tracking down work if I’m inspired). Anyway, this . I adore the dark wood thing lately, I just picked up a bunch of frames for  the master that are in the same vein.

Shop this weekend…

  • Loft Outlet is having a major sale right now, and no code is needed. A ton of products are 50% off and if you have a rewards account (it’s free, I use a separate email for these kinds of accounts), you can get an extra 15% off! The sale goes through the 21st.
  • Another sale happening through the 21st is at Madewell. Use code BESTNEWS to get an extra 30% sale styles.
  • I’m gonna do a little self promo here and promote my Posh closet. We’re working on getting it back to active and I’m desperately trying to be okay with parting with my clothes. Check out my closet here.
  • Always shop with Ebates (not sponsored, but this is a referral link which you can get too if you’re a part). I’ve saved almost $400 since using it. And I know I’ve missed out on quite a bit from not taking advantage of the in-store features as well. I’m working on getting better because it’s seriously so fundamental.
What are you loving lately?
