Happy Fri-YAY, ladies! Long time no video! Editing these things is just a serious time hog – but it doesn’t help that I talk. Will try to plan out what I’m going to say in the future. BUT for now, enjoy this video covering my Summer 2018 Reading List and don’t forget to share your favorites below!

SUMMER 2018 READING LIST

FICTION

A DEATH IN THE SMALL HOURS. This book is a part of a series – but it seems like it’s more of that Nancy Drew style. You  know, the kind where you can read them completely out of order and still get the gist? AND it’s a historical fiction based in Victorian England so I’m all over it.

AIN’T SHE A PEACH. This book instantly made me think of a Hallmark Murder Mystery. I can’t tell for sure, but I think there’s some kind of romance aspect. There’s also a chick who has no business investigating crime teaming up with a police officer, so yeah, very Hallmark. I think it’s going to be great by the pool!

ALL THINGS CEASE TO APPEAR. I was not immediately drawn toward this book – until I read the back. I don’t know, the cover just doesn’t do it for me. But it does say the perpetrator of the crime is unknown to the police and the reader, at least at first, and then he/she is never caught. Probably not a book to read before bedtime, but the thriller aspect of it sounds like fun!

BRIGHT YOUNG THINGS. This was a book I read back in high school, but I never actually finished the series. I have it on my Kindle, which is great because that’s what I tend to read at night. So I added it to my summer 2018 reading list so I could finally make my way through the series again.

NON-FICTION

BOSS BRIDE. I knew nothing about this book when I picked it up. I couldn’t tell if it was a wedding planning book, a book for newly married entrepreneurs, or what. But I read the back and it seems like something more focused toward balancing life and work – and we could all use that. I’ll let you know how it goes!

INSIDE STORY. One of two writing-related books on my reading list this season. This one is focused on non-fiction, journalism/blogging style writing.

LAUREN CONRAD STYLE. I have owned this book since it came out and never read it. So now I’m going to read it. When all the styles are out of fashion. YAY!

MEDITATION FOR FIDGETY SKEPTICS. This past season my anxiety got way worse. I’m not sure why, but I thought picking up a book focused on meditation (and I’m pretty fidgety) might help!

TANKER PILOT. I bought this book because there were airplanes on the cover. Seriously. After reading about it, it looks like the kind of business/entrepreneurship book I love. But I’ll let you know!

WRITING WITH QUIET HANDS. The second of two writing-related books on my reading list this season. This one is focused fiction writing, which I don’t do much of, but those story telling skills are applicable in non-fiction, too.

YOU ARE A BADASS. This book was on my list last season as well, and I did start it. My goal is just to finish it this season.
