GUYS! My apartment is almost done! Slipcovers for these hideous couches will probably wait till I find the perfect set, but I can’t wait to share the photos! I’m still looking for a few key decorative pieces, but they’re the “I’ll know it when I see it” type of thing and those details can take awhile. In these pictures, you can one of my annoying shelves that I talked about recently. I’ve since worked it into this great little bar cabinet. It’s been several months in the making, but I’ve finally created a space that I feel great being in and I’m seeing improvements in my work.
Environment makes a huge difference in productivity. I’ve neglected a few other responsibilities in the pursuit of a comfortable work space. It was a risk, but it’s paying off. The last two days I’ve buckled down and caught up a ton, way more than I have in a long, long time. I still have a lot to go, but I feel more capable, motivated and inspired to get it done. I can’t tell you how great that is.
So if you’re feeling down or having a hard time working and being productive, I implore you to change your surroundings. You can’t produce great work if you don’t feel great, it’s really worth making it a priority.
