TOP 5 CLASSIC SUMMER STYLE ESSENTIALS

Happy Wednesday, ladies! Summer officially began last week, and like I’ve been saying, I’m thrilled. I’m walking into this summer with such a great attitude that I didn’t quite have at this time last summer. Not that it wasn’t good, just not this good, you know? To celebrate the kickoff, I want to talk about five pieces that are absolutely essential in every summer wardrobe. And these are the classics worth investing in because you’ll be reaching for them year after year after year!

SHEIN DRESS (SIMILAR) // STEVE MADDEN SANDALS {LAST SEEN} (SIMILAR) // VINTAGE WICKER BAG (SIMLAR) // KATE SPADE BRACELET (SIMILAR)

ONE. WICKER BAG

A wicker or wood purse is so on trend this season, but truthfully they’re in trend every summer. For the next few summers, I have no doubt that a small wicker or wood purse will be totally in style, so it’s worth picking up a good quality option. But if you’re going to spend the money on something amazing, look for a bigger, structured option that you can take to the beach. Even when little wood clutches start to fade in popularity, a well made wicker beach bag will remain classic and totally fashion forward.

TWO. FANCY FLAT SANDALS

Invest in a cute pair of flip flops or sandals that will take you from day to night. For me, those are the Tory Burch Miller Flip Flops. They’re so amazingly comfortable and well made. Seriously, I’ve given mine a beating and they look amazing to this day. Summer is such a spontaneous and fun season, so it’s important for your footwear to be able to handle anything!

THREE. A TRUE RED LIPSTICK

Okay, so a red lip is always a classic. But there’s something about a true, bright red that looks so good in summer. It’s elegant, but also kind of effortless in the season. Especially with a more nautical or preppy look. Find one that’s long lasting like a liquid lipstick or velvet matte that can handle sipping on mint juleps all night.

FOUR. BLUE STRIPED DRESS

A structured, fitted, blue striped dress is so dang summery. It just screams nautical, but not to theme-y. And it will look amazing with your wicker bag, summer sandals, and bright red lip. How’s that for a summer formula? Right now I’m obsessing over these striped beauties:

FIVE. GINGHAM EVERYTHING!

Stripes are amazing for summer, but the true, ultimate summer fabric is gingham. From shorts, to tops, to dresses, you can’t go wrong with gingham. Considering it’s the print most often responsible for those summer-time BBQ picnic table cloths, it kind of just screams summer time fun and memories. Red gingham is the most classic, but I think blue gingham is the most wearable. Here’s a few of my favorites:

What are your summer wardrobe staples?
