A couple weeks ago, when I was home, I set out on a mission with a friend of mine to find the perfect gift for one of my professor’s whose having a baby this fall. It was Memorial Day so most of the local boutiques were closed, but we drove around to a few to check them out. I wanted to wear something comfortable and cool, but still cute. This Target dress was perfect.

I ended up shopping for myself, too. I picked up a couple pairs of shorts and I’m super excited about that. My closet is seriously lacking. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to share them here soon. For my professor, I got a couple baby outfits and added a rollerball perfume and lotion, as well as a necklace I made for her once I got back to campus. I woke up late so I teased my day old curls and braided my bangs back, then pulled it up into a ponytail. I added the headband I got on my birthday, and it’s probably one of my favorite hairstyles. I absolutely love messy ponytails, even if I rarely wear them.
If my writing sounds funny, it’s because I wrote two 1000+ word essays this weekend and I had a final at 8AM on Saturday, with an essay portion, so my brain is fried. The essays still need a little proofreading and touching up, but I need to step away from words for a little bit before I can attempt to comprehend them again. So glad this quarter is nearly over! Whew.
To compensate for lack luster writing today, I have a little tip to try this week. See that pretty gold “charm” on my necklace? It’s actually the clasp. Every now and then you stumble across a necklace with a really pretty finding, in my experience it’s been a fun way to change up the look. Raid your jewelry box, maybe you could try the same thing!
Have a great week everyone!
