COLOR LOVE: BURGUNDY

Winter is actually my favorite season, well, winter and fall. I like cooler weather. I feel so overwhelmed when it’s starts heating up. Don’t get me wrong, I love spending summer by the pool – but only by the pool. Anything more than a bikini in the heat is just too much for me. Winter is just so much more classy, with sparkles and parties and elegant accessories, it’s no surprise I love it. And there’s nothing that makes me happier than curling up with hot chocolate and a book by the fire with a little snow outside. Or a lot of snow. Last month I talked about my obsession with emerald. I’m not over that, probably never will be, but it’s not the only color I love. Burgundy is one of my absolute favorite colors to see this time of year. Its jewel like character adds festivity and happiness to outfits in the dreariest time of year. It really goes well with everything. I showed in this post how it could be a neutral in your wardrobe. Personally, I love seeing it mixed with a leopard print. I think the color and pattern play well together. Many of the pieces in this collection demand a little too much attention to be considered neutral, but they’re still easy to wear, festive, and a little happier than the black we layer upon ourselves this time of year!

I confess, the dress at the end of this post is actually waiting at home for me. It got in at the beginning of the week and I’m super excited to try it on. I actually liked it so much I got it in black, too. My mom also got it. We really liked it. Oops. Sorry, not sorry.
