STATE OF THE UNION
I’m back from my hiatus! I predict an every so slight decrease in my busyness level from now until the end of summer. Save Spring Break, because I’ll probably be working my booty off. Today I’m coming at you with an outfit post, and a state of union – basically, what’s up in my life. It’s helpful for me to write it out, but it’s also nice to have it published here so y’all know what’s up, and, if I fall off the face of the earth again, you’ll know why. And you’ll know I’ll be back. 😉
So, Spring quarter. I’m taking a smaller course load. I’m finishing my Portuguese major, my Technology Management (Read: Business) certificate/minor, and finishing my senior honors thesis for Biological Anthropology. A large amount of my not-in-class-time will be spent in the lab or writing my thesis. The deadline for that project is the end of the quarter, and I will be presenting it at the Undergraduate Research Colloquium at the end of the quarter as well.
This summer, I’m graduating. I walk at the beginning of June. But, I will still be attending the gorgeous University of California, Santa Barbara for the remainder of the summer. I could have easily satisfied the rest of my requirements in Spring, but I wanted a buffer period between school and the next step since finishing my thesis will keep me so busy that I won’t have time to work on what comes next.
During the summer, I’m taking the minimum class load. My not-in-class-time will be spent working, applying for internships, rounding out my resume and CV (it’s an academic version of a resume), and making arrangements for when I finally finish college. I’m nervous – I know what I want to happen, but I don’t know what’s next. So for now, I’m focusing on thinking hard about getting through these next twelve weeks, and my senior thesis. Once that’s done, the real strategizing begins.
