UNPACK WITH ME

Hello! Talk about a blast from the past – I found this old footage lying around and thought I’d make a post of it. When we got back from Vancouver last year, I made sure to film an Unpack With Me, but then we just got too busy to get around to editing it. I cut out a massive amount of the rambling that wasn’t really relevant anymore, but I think the packing tips are still quite useful.

TOP THREE PACKING TIPS

Color-coordinate your outfits. I’ve done this a few different ways, but my favorites are using paint chips or creating a digital color code. Use about 3-5 colors, with at least two being very neutral. One can be a bold color, or consider using something like a navy which can be bold and neutral, along with a bold color like coral. Whatever you decide, stick to that palette only.
When you’re done, take things out. One of the things I always do when I’m done picking out my clothes and shoes is to go back through and create outfits in my mind or by taking pictures. Then, I try to eliminate one or two things or more, depending on how packed my bag is getting. Often I find I can create way more outfits than I’ll ever wear, so I can afford to lose a piece or two.
Use a checklist! I swear by my checklist. I know that I can use it and I won’t forget a thing. You can download mine below. I also recommend using the back to get more specific if needed. For example, I just listed make up – but if you don’t have a pre-packed makeup bag, listing all the products you need may be helpful. Once you’ve done this, make a copy or scan it so you don’t have to redo it!
