Happy Wednesday gorgeous girls! On Monday I shared my favorite DIY yet – removable pom pom shoe wraps! I really wasn’t sure how I felt about the pom pom sandals trend. I thought they were so fun! But I didn’t know if they would work for me. This DIY was amazingly inexpensive and easy and it let me try out a trend without committing my whole fashion budget to it – #score. HOW TO WEAR POM POM SANDALS

My biggest concern with the pom shoe trend was, “How the heck do I wear this without looking like a 5-year old?” What I’ve learned is to keep your look fun, but simple. Don’t be afraid to embrace other trends. I opted for this OTS top and fringe bag, but my shoes are still the loudest part of my outfit. Even my bright lipstick didn’t overwhelm them! In fact, a bright lip color was a perfect choice because it brought intentionality to the look at the top, to match the bright bottom. If you go too simple (unless you’ve got a LWD or LBD), you risk looking scared of your shoes. Even in the case of an LWD/LBD, you want to use a bold lip color to sandwich your simple look between two bold details. So bring out your hippest style, but keep the color palette toned down so your fun shoes stand out!

Back to lip color, can I just talk about this lipstick for a second? Oh, my gosh! It is the brightest color I’ve ever worn. Chris convinced me to just go for it and I’m so happy I did! I can’t wait to keep experimenting. The pink I wore is from the Sephora Minnie Mouse collection, which is limited edition, and filled with some really great colors!
