MY CURRENT HAIR CARE ROUTINE

April 19, 2018

Happy Thursday! How is your week going? Truth be told, I’m writing this post on Monday, so I’m not sure how my week is going yet – but I hope it’s well for me and you! When I moved to Colorado my hair went through a change; and it’s taken about a year to figure it out. Not that I didn’t have some of these struggles before (my hair has never wanted to hold a soft curl), but they’re worse now than ever. Fortunately, I’ve started to understand my hair and in today’s video I’m sharing my current hair care routine, how I style it, and how I deal with its particular challenges.

CURRENT HAIR CARE ROUTINE

I’m currently testing out a million different shampoos and conditioners, but the L’oreal Volume Filler is my favorite collection. I typically only wash my hair once a week. While my hair is damp (no longer soaking wet), I brush it out with a wide tooth comb and a leave in conditioner. I add a little bit of Kenra Platinum Luxe One Leave In most days, but especially when I let my hair air dry, which I do about 80% of the time.

When I blow dry my hair, I use a Drybar round brush, a paddle brush, and a two-sided vent brush to do an at home blowout. I use a variety of products to help with the blow dry, and often times change it up, but I’m loving the Tigi Catwalk Roost Boost and the Amika blowout spray.

Every night I use the Living Proof Night Cap the mid-shaft to ends of my hair, as well as a dry shampoo. Living Proof makes my favorite dry shampoo. In the morning, I add a little more dry shampoo if a particular area needs it, and the R&Co Dry Shampoo paste at the root if my hair seems to be parting weirdly in the back.

And that’s about it. Watch the video to see how I curl my hair. I styled it in a much looser wave for the video, but if I wanted something more curly like in this post, I just grab smaller sections as I work my way around.
