After two weeks of being down for the count, I’m finally starting to feel a little better. It’s not over yet, I’m still a little symptomatic and we’re waiting on several blood tests to figure out exactly what went wrong. Truth be told, the experience was pretty traumatic. One day I was having an amazing Valentine’s weekend, and the next I was in bed in severe pain, with one eye swollen shut and running a fever of 102.
I’m thankful that it’s almost over and I’m feeling well enough to catch up on some reading for my classes. I was pretty upset that during the whole process I didn’t have the energy to work on this blog, it really is my happy place. I did spend a lot of time watching Bones and browsing Pinterest on my phone, so I’d like to share with you some of the pretty things that distracted me from the worst over the last couple weeks..
I’m absolutely crazy about this giant red SWAK made from wood planks. I’d love to DIY this and hang it in the bathroom or my dream closet.
Speaking of lips, this is an adorable quote about the problem solving powers of lipstick. 😉
These Anthropologie earrings caught my eye immediately. The colors are some of my favorite and sparkly statement earrings always win my heart.
I don’t normally spend much time looking at Women’s Fashion on Pinterest since I spend so much time on fashion blogs, but since I wasn’t on my computer I took a look and found this great outfit. I love the mix of colors and the leopard print pants!
Since my spirit animal is obviously a cat, I found these kitten meditation tips quite helpful. (The cat love is real.)
When I’m feeling well, I tend to be stupidly busy. These 10 Overnight Beauty Tips are great because I don’t have to sacrifice school to take care of myself or sacrifice my personal self in order to stay caught up with work.
I love this messy bun/ponytail, my hair might be a bit too long to accomplish this look successfully, but I still think I’d like to try.
I don’t know if I can see myself walking around campus with a flower crown, but this DIY tutorial kind of makes me want to. It would also make a pretty beachy headpiece.
I got this green creme eyeshadow in January, but I’ve been a little afraid to wear it. This mint green eye look inspired me to give it a shot (when my eye heals) in a more muted way.
I really missed this blog, my forced absence reminded me how much this place means to me. I have a lot of school work to catch up on and finals quickly approaching, but I’m really going to try hard not to neglect this space. I started this blog as a way to reconnect with my passion and escape my stresses and it has been all of that and more to me. I hope you stick around and can find some enjoyment in it, too.

Hi there..just found your blog. Good to know you are feeling better..running a fever of 102 sounds painful. But above all, the quote at the beginning of your article, I keep reminding myself of that, every time I decide on doing /saying something at the right occasion.
Willfully Elegant
Thanks for the kind comment! It is a wonderful quote, isn't it 🙂
Ashleigh, thanks for the comment on my blog! President Monson's quote is great…I am sorry you were sick for so long. I would love to connect through GFC…do you have a way to do that? I have been trying to increase my GFC numbers.
