IT’S MY BIRTHDAY!

IT’S MY BIRTHDAY! So, I post on odd days if you haven’t noticed and 23 happens to be odd, the 23d of May also happens to be my birthday. I wanted to do something special, because I can, but I wasn’t sure what exactly. My mom got me this gorgeous necklace and ring for my big 2-0, and I the second I saw it I knew I should hold off posting until I got a chance to wear it and take pictures!

The turquoise statement necklace is probably not something I would pick out by myself. I love statement pieces, but I just never seem to get them. Maybe I’m too indecisive about what I want. I love getting gifts like this, rather than gift cards, because I love seeing what other people think I should wear. If it weren’t for my aunt, I wouldn’t be wearing skinny jeans. She thought I would wear them well, so she got me a pair for Christmas and I’ve never looked back. My earrings are also a gift, from my dad. I think he got them on a trip to Brasil? It was some place I wish I was, I know that!

Mom said she had been looking at my blog for ideas and saw my last post about turquoise and that inspired her choice. I hadn’t realized my page could be useful in that sense, but I guess it is. A lot of the things I feature here I wouldn’t buy while shopping on my own, but I’m actually totally in love with them. I clearly make no sense.

If there was anything I could have for my birthday, I’d want my dad to be back in the country. He had to deliver an airplane to Guam. I’m sad that he isn’t here, but I’m having a pretty good day anyway. My mom and I went shopping this morning and I got some great things I’ve been wanting for awhile. I thought like my mom and thought about the items I posted on my blog, I tried to shop for those kinds of things. It’ll take some practice, but I’m getting it. The good news is, my dad will be back in town late tonight and we’re having a family dinner tomorrow.
