This is probably one of my most favorite outfit photosets. The light filtered through a nearby tree in the afternoon so perfectly, it seemed like the sun was setting all day long. It was absolutely gorgeous. I couldn’t have picked a better outfit to match with the light, either. The warm browns and gold and sheer white blouse complemented the atmosphere and made for some gorgeous shots.

I’ve actually been holding on to these photos since before I went to Texas, but I just didn’t have the time to sit down and edit them. The pearl necklace I’m wearing is really special to me because it belonged to my grandmother. The silver ring I wear everyday is just a special, it was the wedding band her husband made. He made matching bands for each of them, I wear his. Wearing those pieces reminds me of where I come from and what it took to be where I am now. They remind me that I need to stay strong and never give up. And that’s exactly what intend do.
