CURRENTLY LOVING: POPS OF YELLOW

Happy Wednesday, ladies! Just a quick post for you today since I’m still uber behind! I’m sharing one of my favorite colors this season: yellow! I’ve included a few tips and tricks for styling it and what shades to look for below! Also – don’t forget to check out the blog next Monday, I’m sharing another trending color you NEED to have!

SHADES OF YELLOW TO KEEP YOUR EYE ON

Pretty much all yellow hues are in, and if you have it in your wardrobe, make the use of what you’ve got! But if you’re out shopping, look for shades in more soft and pastel tones, or deeper, darker, mustard colors. Don’t let that color scare you – there’s actually so many shades of mustard available right now you can easily find one suited to your skin tone. This top for example, actually looks pretty nice on my fair skin, compared to the darker mustards that were on trend a few years ago.

HOW TO STYLE THE TREND

Ready to embrace the yellow? It’s one of those colors that made me nervous at first. The best strategy for nervous yellow wearers is to wear one piece, with an otherwise neutral or monochromatic look. Think: a yellow blouse, denim, nude wedges – done.

If you’re feeling more courageous, try mixing your yellow with shades of pink, green, or blue. A yellow skirt would look gorgeous with a green silk floral blouse. Keep the accessories neutral just to avoid looking like an Easter egg. Experiment with what’s in your closet already, or ease into it by using a patterned piece that already incorporates yellow and a few other shades!
