Happy Monday, ladies! I hope you had a fabulous weekend. Monday’s are always a little rough for me, even when I’m fully prepared or if I had a working weekend. Something about Monday just makes me not want to wear real clothes. Tell me I’m not alone here! Anyway, some Monday’s I actually do want to dress up a bit – but I still don’t want to wear real clothes. The paradox can be massively annoying. So I’ve learned how to take my cozy casual pieces, and dress them up. Perfect for a Monday: I get what I want and look a little nice, but sacrifice almost none of that cozy feeling.

GO FOR A MINIMAL, BUT GLAM, HEEL

Okay, a heel isn’t the most casual of pieces, but it is a great way to dress up casual joggers. In fact, it’s the best way to. Nothing says “I’m taking athleisure full-glam” like a strappy sandal. So opt for a minimal heel, stiletto or a chunky heel, but not a wedge. A heel like mine, with only two straps across it is the perfect minimal. I almost feel like these heels work so well because they kind of say “I’m barefoot,” but also definitely not. You know? Maybe it’s just me – but this is the heel for your joggers. Trust me.

INCORPORATE ONE PRINT OR BOLD DESIGN DETAIL

You know how, when you dress up, there’s always something about your look that really stands out? That’s what you need. My joggers brought a ton of print to this party, but if they were totally plain, I might have opted for a pearl encrusted bag or metallic graphic tee. Something to amp up that “WOW” factor. So evaluate your coziest pieces and figure out which ones have a little extra pizzaz. A pearl encrusted sweatshirt perhaps? If you don’t have any cozy pieces to give that extra flash, pop it into an accessory. You won’t disrupt your comfort, but your look stays fresh. Just stick to one bold detail, you don’t want to overwhelm your look or your comfort.

OPT FOR A BOLD LIP

Last but not least, just go for it. Opt for a bold lip. It brings together all of your look, even if the rest of your makeup look is a simple 10 minute job. I love the NYX Butter Lipsticks because they’re so comfortable they feel like chapstick, they stay in place, and they look totally fab. I have the shade “Ripe Berry” which fades into a gorgeous pink-y berry shade in the most even way. It’s gorgeous, and I don’t have to stress about reapplying constantly. So go for something bold, but easy to wear.
