HOW TO WEAR PRINTED PANTS YEAR ROUND

Happy Wednesday, ladies! I hope you’re having a good week so far! Today I want to talk about one of my most favorite pieces in my wardrobe: printed pants. I especially love to wear them in the summer, by the beach or lounging around. But printed pants look great year round, so long as you pick the right pair and style them properly. In today’s post I’m sharing exactly what to look for in your printed pants and a few pairs I’m loving!

THE PRINT IS KEY

The first key is to look for the right kind of print. Tie-dye and anything too boho can look a little summery for a full glam winter outfit. Instead, look for more geometric, even ikat is a good choice, patterns that are flattering on you. A side note it to look for pants in a slinkier fabric or polyester, rather than a linen or cotton which can come across very summery.

BE COLOR CONSCIOUS

Pastels are definitely suitable in winter, but when looking for printed pants that can be worn year round, you’re better off opting for neutrals. Black and white is such a classic color combination. Navy is also a great choice. And florals that incorporate dark and light colors are great season options as well.  All of the options I’m sharing below can be styled for both summer and winter seasons:

STYLE IT RIGHT

When it comes to styling printed pants, it’s best to keep it simple. The pants are the star of the show. But just because you keep it simple, doesn’t mean you have to cut back on color. By opting for a neutral pant, you can either keep your whole look neutral by picking a white sweater or t-shirt (depending on the season), or go bold, like I did in this post. I knew I wanted to incorporate a bright red, but in order to keep the look simple and classic, I only opted for red. I chose a simple red sweater and matched it with red pumps, then kept it monochromatic for the rest of the look.

How do you feel about printed pants? And what’s your favorite way to style them?
