3 FREE WAYS TO JUMP START YOUR SUMMER STYLE

Happy Wednesday, ladies! I hope you’re having a great week so far! Before we get into this post I just want to talk a bit about these photos. Chris and I hiked up to this bamboo forest to get these photos and it seemed like everything was going wrong along the way – including rain, and a need to turn around early on before continuing. And when we finally got to the bamboo forest, the mist and moisture in the air was so thick that the camera was struggling to get a nice picture. But the final hazy feel reminds me of an old, colorized movie and I’m kind of obsessed with the result. Plus, it’s just a fun story. But anyway, let’s just get into today’s post..

TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT WITH YOUR HAIR

This one doesn’t seem like much, but it will actually make a big difference. I’ve talked about the importance of being well groomed before, and especially as it relates to creating a chic look. By changing the way you style your hair or do your makeup, you change your look, and kick up your summer style.

WEAR YOUR DRESSES AS SKIRTS OR TOPS

I’ve talked about this trick before. And it’s one I relied on for this post. This is such an easy way to pretty much double your wardrobe and add a little spice to your look in summer. And, this trick will help you transition into fall without spending a fortune on light jackets you’ll only wear a few times. By adding a dress, you essentially create another layer at one end!

RETHINK YOUR ACCESSORIES

I love to reuse my accessories in creative ways that you wouldn’t necessarily jump to at first sight. For example, tiny belts can be used to create peplum-look tops. I also love taking thin littler summer scarfs and tying them around my waist as a pretty bow-belt. I’ve also been know to tuck purse straps into bags to create clutches or tie scarves to them to refresh their look. The possibilities are endless. Just start by laying out a few pieces you like from different categories out on the floor, then coupling them together and trying different combos to create a new look.

How have you kicked up your style this summer?
