EFFORTLESSLY CHIC 4TH OF JULY LOOK

Happy Monday, ladies! I hope you’re having a fabulous weekend so far and are ready to celebrate an amazing fourth! This is the first fourth I can remember spending away from my hometown, and I’m feeling pretty nostalgic. Even though it means I’m avoiding absolutely blazing temps. Anyway, some fourths I like to go all out for. And for others, I like a look that is more effortlessly chic. So in today’s post I’m talking about the latter, and how you can create and easy, festive, but not too theme-y look for the fourth.

OPT FOR A DRESS

A great way to start an effortlessly chic look is with a dress. It’s kind of the top and bottom all-in-one, so a couple of well-though-out accessories are all you need to really kill the look. An easy summery structure like a halter neck or cami is great because it adds a layer of being dressed up that allows you more freedom in choosing accessories and ultimately determining the vibe of your look.

LOOK FOR RED, WHITE, & BLUE PIECES IN YOUR OWN CLOSET

A great way to create an effortless and not too theme-y look is to wear pieces that already incorporate the colors, without any slogans or wording or obvious 4th of July connotation. Red, white, and blue is actually a very classic color combination which means it’s easy to find pretty dresses like this one that incorporate it. I have at least 10 pieces in my own closet that would work for a 4th of July look, but also fit in quite nicely and unobtrusively all summer long. And I bet you have at least one, as well. If not, you can find one inexpensively at Marshall’s, TJ Maxx, Ross, or Target.

TOP IT WITH EASY, TRENDY SUMMER ACCESSORIES

Incorporating summer trends adds and intentionality to your look, and it’s wear some of that chic in effortlessly chic comes in. I talked about how  wicker bag was a summer essential, and especially this year, it adds a gorgeous touch. Plus it pulls out that BBQ/picnic vibe that is very Americana. I also topped this look with fringe earrings to get a little more trendy, and I love the fun result.

What are you wearing this 4th?
