But the start of a new month means more fashion formulas, and we’re starting summer styles! So today I want to talk about why you need fashion formulas and how the Formulaic Fashion series can help you!

FASHION FORMULAS SAVE YOU TIME
This is the BIGGEST reason why you should always have a few fashion formulas handy. Whether you design them yourself or collect them from the Formulaic Fashion series, keep a few taped to your closet door. I have a few committed to memory, like this one I wore for this post.
Between cooking, cleaning, and, well, sleeping in, I didn’t have whole lot of time to put together a cute BBQ outfit. So I started with my most basic piece, denim, and used a fashion formula that fit. Denim jeans + a cute blouse + a color complementary jacket + open toe shoes.
The classic outfit took seconds to put together – but it didn’t look like it. And it won’t, with the right formula.
FASHION FORMULAS ARE ALWAYS CHIC
A good formula is built up from classic pieces, which means your outfit will be perpetually chic. You can collect them and save them up for years to come. Although, I highly recommend only pining 3-5 to your closet at the time, and rotate them every few months if you do build a big stash.
If you’re not keeping a million and rotating them, pin about 3 for each occasion that you often find yourself struggling with. Experiment with the formulas in the archive and save the ones that work the best for you and your own style. You’ll always look chic because you’re dressing to you.
FASHION FORMULAS ARE SUPER EASY
Have you ever had a day where getting dressed is just so dang hard? I know I’ve had days where I’ve had all the time in the world to come up with a cute, unique outfit. But I end up just staring frustrated at my closet. Now, given that this whole blog is based on fashion – those kinds of days are bad for business. But they happen. Often when fashion inspiration won’t strike, I need to find inspiration from elsewhere. But I gotta get dressed first, right?
For you, maybe it doesn’t go exactly like that. But I bet you know the exact feeling of irritated despair that I’m talking about. And that’s what fashion formulas are great for. You still end up with the chicest look on the street, but you don’t end up with half your closet all over the floor. Win, win, wine. 😉
