BLUEPRINT BEAUTY: 3 AMAZING 7 MINUTE OR LESS MASKS

Happy Monday, ladies! I hope you had a wonderful weekend – despite the time change! It’s almost Spring which means it’s just about time to update your skin care routine to fit the weather and your lifestyle. Facials and masks are a great way to help your skin cope with the changing weather, but many masks take forever to set and see results. Busy #Girlbosses don’t always have time for that. But luckily there’s a few amazing masks that you can do in seven minutes or less that will actually get you results and keep your skin looking amazing!

DR. BRANDT OXYGEN FACIAL

I think this mask is so fun. It also makes my skin feel great afterward, so that’s good too. 😉 The Dr. Brandt Oxygen Facial only takes about five minutes after washing your face. I personally like to use it at night, but I’m quite sure it would be great in the morning before make up as well!

The mask goes on like a cream, then suds up like a bubble mask. The first time I applied it, I put it on from my forehead down. I started sorting laundry and in a few minutes I felt like it was falling off my face. Without looking in a mirror first, I just grabbed a washcloth and thought I would catch it falling off. A minute later, nothing was dripping so I looked in the mirror and noticed all the bubbles at the top of my face had popped and the “dripping” feeling was actually just the bubbles popping.

It was quite amusing and I always get a kick out of the feeling when I use it because it reminds me of the first time. And afterward my skin always feels so soft and clean so I keep using it!

FRESH ROSE FACE MASK

The Fresh Rose Face Mask is one of my favorite masks of all time and the only one I brought with me to Peru. It’s not revolutionary in terms of what it does to your skin, although it doesn’t do nothing. But, if you like the smell of roses, it is the most relaxing thing ever. If I’ve had a stressful day, I love how it helps me relax and the clean feeling it leaves behind makes it even better.

It’s great to apply before putting your makeup on in the morning because it only needs to sit for about 5 minutes. It leaves your skin feeling moisturized, but not overly moisturized, so it doesn’t interfere with your foundation or makeup. My favorite time to apply though is in the evening after a long  day. I find the fragrance to be so soothing and calming and it combats the damage the day did to my skin. It’s also gentle enough to be used daily.

DERMALOGICA CHARCOAL RESCUE MASQUE

This is the mask I turn to when my skin is really in need of a little TLC. Generally, my biggest skin issue that I treat with masks is texture caused by dryness. Even though I am quite prone to breakouts, I’ve found that those are actually sometimes caused by the build up of texture on my skin. So I do a few moisturizing masks like the Dr. Brandt and Fresh mask, but every now and then I need to do something to fight the dry texture and breakouts. For that, I love the Dermalogica Charcoal Rescue Masque.

I put it on and let it dry for about 7 minutes before washing it off and my skin feels super fresh afterward. I almost think it gets the texture and dirt off my skin better than my Clarisonic sometimes. Then, because I am prone to dryness, I top it off with the LATHER Honey Moisture Face Mask, which I sleep in without washing off. Seriously, this combination is amazing. I wake up the next day and my skin feels exactly like it did the night before, it feels freshly washed.

What are your favorite masks and when do you like to use them?
