CUBICLE TO COCKTAIL: WORK PARTY

Happy Thursday, ladies! Our trip is nearly over, but it’s been a fun one. Today’s post is all about the workplace. We always have our work parties the week of Christmas, so I decided to share this work party look just a little in advance. I wanted to make sure it was something conservative and professional enough for the work day, but also festive and fun to get you in the mood.

Keep it professional, but now is the time to break out your favorite coat. You won’t wear it for too long, but you’ll walk into your work party and leave feeling festive and jubilant and hopefully share some of that positive energy with your coworkers. The holiday’s are super fun, but can be stressful, so finding a way to pop in a fun feature like a furry coat is great for everybody.

Reds, golds, and greens are the most traditional holiday colors and for an office, you probably want to stick to the traditional. But opt for more muted shades like berries, pines, and subtle metallic details to keep the whole look more professional and less childish. I chose two holiday tones, a rich burgundy in my heels and gold accessories, on top of a pretty snowy white and bronzy skirt to pull away from the obvious Christmas colors and keep the look professional and festive enough for a work party.

Speaking of festive colors, skip the black if possible. In an office, it’s so common and expected. Everyone wears black, and it’s just so daily. By choosing muted colors like deep burgundies, bronzes, ivories, and navies, you can still be professional enough for your work and work party, but you can separate from the everyday mundane.
