COUNTY FAIR FASHION

Summer time means fair time and I love it. The food, the rides, the noise. It gets a little wild and there’s some less than friendly people, but it never stops me from having a great time with family and friends. Dressing for fair isn’t as easy as it seems. There’s just so many things to do, it’s hard to find one look to rule them all. I put some thought into a few outfits. They work really well for one activity, but you won’t have a wardrobe malfunction if that one thing isn’t all you do. Follow the jump to see!

The first bit of advice, leave the Prada at home. If you’re not comfortable with what you’re wearing being covered in dirt or accidentally spilt on, just don’t wear it. You should be having fun, not worrying about if you can get that stain out. With that said, wearing dark colors helps a lot, if you’re willing to be super warm until the sun sets. Even though I love my boots and the fair is the perfect place to wear them, I never do for exactly the reasons I mentioned above. I’m still on the hunt for a pair I love, but not too much to be afraid to wear them.

TOMS TOP (SIMILAR, SIMILAR) / J. CREW JEANS / EXPRESS CROSS BODY BAG / H&M BELT / VANS FOR J.CREW SNEAKERS / FOREVER 21 BRACELETS / BURT’S BEES TINTED LIP BALM in HIBISCUS

The other two outfits in this post can be worn on rides with only minor discomfort, too, but if your sole mission every fair is to ride as many rides as possible, minor discomfort quickly becomes unbearable. Sneakers are a must, as well as a bag that is small enough and tight enough to you so you always know it’s there. Jewelry should be kept minimal to none, there’s nothing worse than losing an earring on a ride or catching and snapping a bracelet or necklace on a strap.

Fair concerts are a blast, but I never seem to stay in one place. Whatever you pick should be comfortable to dance around in and not too warm. You’ll probably be squeezing into crowds and bumping into people, so keep the jewelry simple and your bag latched up and close to you.

H&M CAMI / AMERICAN EAGLE JEGGING / CORRAL BOOTS / CROWN VINTAGE BAG / FOREVER 21 SCARF / AMAZON EARRINGS / SOLE SOCIETY RING / SOLE SOCIETY NECKLACE / STILA LIP STAIN in POMEGRANATE CRUSH

Rallys, races, and derbys are the most similar to daily wear. Because you’ll spend most of the time being stationary and watching the action, you can wear a little more jewelry and delicate things. I eat and drink a ton at races, so a lip stain is perfect so you don’t constantly need to reapply. Finally, tie a cute scarf to your purse. When the sun sets and it cools down, you can wrap it around your neck or shoulders.

Let me know what you think of these ideas and if you have any other great fair-related solutions! Happy Monday, y’all!

What a great assortment of ideas for those fair-going days! I am a big fan of music concerts, so the outfit ideas for that were my favorites. I love the boho look and that reminds me a lot like boho. Thanks for sharing these great ideas! Found your blog over at the "Monday Mingle"
