This isn’t a product I tried on my trip here to Texas, I actually picked it up on my birthday weekend. I’m always on the lookout for a product to give me some lift and volume, my hair just loves to be flat. I’ve looked into root boosters and decided it was finally time to get my hands dirty. Everyone’s hair is different so I decided to start with a brand I knew I liked.

I don’t hate this product, but my search for a good root lifter isn’t over. It definitely did its job, I did get a fair amount of lift and it lasted to the next day. The problem was that I felt it in my hair too much. On the first day it doesn’t bother me, I felt like there is product and texture to my hair, my roots felt super thick and were lifted. On first day hair, it rocked. I couldn’t go more than two days on my hair, though. It didn’t get the greasy shiny look as quickly as it started feeling like it had that look, so while my hair looked good, I was super paranoid and wasted a lot of time checking to make sure. By the end of the second day it just felt greasy and like I needed a shower.
The first time I tried it, I didn’t use as much product and I didn’t get as much lift, but it wasn’t so greasy-feeling so soon. So the amount of product matters, a careful balance is important. My main reason for disliking this product is having to think about that balance, my attention is focused on so many things – thinking about how much root lifter I’m putting in is asking a little much at this juncture.
Overall, my opinion is definitely try this product if you wash your hair daily and you don’t mind the feel of product. It’s absolutely perfect for that. If you like to stretch your wash for two or three days, it probably isn’t the best product for you. I’m still on the hunt for an easy root lifter, I picked up a bottle of Big Sexy Hair Root Pump Spray Mousse to try on my trip to Texas. I’ll let you know how that one goes!

I had never thought of it the way you put it but maybe this is the reason I can't stand to go without washing my hair everyday. I do sometimes go the second day without washing but by the end of the second day I can't stand it any longer. I too have flat hair and it tends to be on the oily side. I have used Pureology products, which I love, Kenra products, which I also love, and both will give me volume and the smell I like or it doesn't bother me ( I have the smell of the hairspray going on with the other) but it just feels better with both to wash everyday especially in the summer. I'm going to follow along now so that maybe I can find the Perfect products by/thru/with you!!!
Your hair texture sounds a lot like mine. I love Pureology and Kenra, too. I love experimenting though! I hope we both find some great products, let me know if you do!
